Story (in German)
It is reported that the three US civilians accused of operating a private jail in Kabul (see below) have claimed before an Afghan court that they acted with the knowledge and encouragement of the US Army in Afghanistan. Their leader, Jonathan Keith Idema, claimed to have handed over "international terrorists" on two occasions to the authorities and said he could substantiate his claims with documents.
...and make some use of this blog! Also, can you perhaps get everyone else's email addresses?
Right - can you send in the right email addresses for the rest of the gang? Then I'll whack out the invites. With any luck we'll just roll it out until the whole tribe is connected.
Went to Big London yesterday with Soizick. The aim was to catch Edward Said's last ever interview on film at the ICA (it was her idea). They were sold out, so off for a beer in Soho. Later on we were at the Royal Festival Hall when I realised that it was that night that the New York Dolls were playing a reunion gig for the Meltdown Festival. Hell fire! The first punk band! Whose drummer died of smack in Leeds!
But naturally, we didn't get in. Which left me with nothing to do but drink and say loudly "Johnny Thunders died in Leeds, tha knawst" at the peacockish Dolls crowd. Bugger.
I've decided that it's time we took a stronger line on this. One year ago, this bunch of freaks graduated from Royal Holloway College. They all studied something vaguely connected with German. It was entirely clear that these men and women represent the stinking and glorious future. I've created this blog so we can keep in touch and co-ordinate our struggle to conquer corporate Britain. Or just go out for a curry.
The idea is that I will send you (you know who you are!) all memberships of the blog so you can inform the rest of us. Think of it as an electric pub noticeboard-cum-ultra advanced social networking system. With any luck it should be working pretty soon.
Thanks, Alex.
